Gloria Cave

Hi, I’m Gloria, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) serving clients in North Carolina, Virginia, and Connecticut. I am committed to providing a supportive, nonjudgmental space where healing, growth, and self-discovery can unfold. I believe therapy is a place where your story is honored, your strengths are celebrated, and your challenges are met with compassion and curiosity.

I draw from a range of therapeutic modalities to offer a personalized, holistic approach for each individual I work with. My practice is grounded in trauma-informed Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, somatic healing practices, and Constructed Awareness (CA), a trauma-informed and integrative approach that gently helps clients accept and heal themselves simply by observing their experience more deeply. I also incorporate a strengths-based perspective, helping clients recognize and build upon their inherent resilience.

Together we can uncover beliefs, patterns, and internal systems shaped by trauma, early caregiving, and religious experiences. I support clients in reconnecting with their inner wisdom, rebuilding trust in themselves, and developing grounded, meaningful ways of relating to others.

I earned my Bachelor’s in Spanish from Harding University in 2006 and my Master of Social Work (MSW) from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 2013. My Spanish language journey began in Costa Rica in 2000 where I returned from 2016 to 2018 as a Peace Corps Volunteer in the Youth Development program—an experience that continues to inform my relational and culturally responsive approach. I also lived in Mexico for 6 months and have spent time in El Salvador, Honduras, Brazil, and Kenya.

My professional background is in community mental health and private group practice, where I worked with children, families, and individuals in both English and Spanish. I’ve supported clients through a wide range of concerns including anxiety, depression, personality disorders, grief, behavioral issues, parenting challenges, communication struggles, and life transitions.

I am currently licensed in:

  • North Carolina (C010091)

  • Virginia (0904018124)

  • Connecticut (14916)

My therapeutic style is gentle, non-violent, and rooted in deep respect for each person’s lived experience. I believe that curiosity, humor, and compassion are essential tools in the healing process—they help illuminate the core components of awareness: thoughts, bodily sensations, and external experiences. By bringing gentle attention to these building blocks, we can begin to shift long-standing patterns and create meaningful, lasting change.

I bring both lived and learned experience to this work, and I hold deep respect for each person’s unique path. When I’m not in session, I enjoy nature, drawing, listening to my new favorite Latino artist, reading, or coffee with friends.

If you're curious about working together, have questions about my approach, or would like to schedule a consultation, I’d love to hear from you. You are welcome here—just as you are.
