Gloria Cave
MSW, LCSW
Hi, I’m Gloria Cave, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) serving clients in North Carolina, Virginia, and Connecticut. I offer a supportive, nonjudgmental space where healing, growth, and self-discovery can unfold. In therapy, your story is honored, your strengths are celebrated, and your challenges are met with compassion and curiosity.
I draw from trauma-informed CBT, mindfulness, somatic practices, EMDR, and Constructed Awareness (CA), integrating these approaches with a strengths-based perspective to help clients recognize and build on their resilience. My style is gentle, collaborative, and deeply respectful of each person’s lived experience. Together, we explore beliefs, patterns, and inner systems shaped by trauma, early caregiving, and religious experiences, with the aim of reconnecting you to your inner wisdom, rebuilding self-trust, and fostering grounded, meaningful relationships. I believe that curiosity, humor, and compassion are essential in healing because they bring awareness to thoughts, bodily sensations, and external experiences, allowing long-standing patterns to shift and lasting change to emerge.
I hold a B.A. in Spanish from Harding University (2006) and an MSW from UNC-Charlotte (2013). My Spanish language journey began in Costa Rica in 2000, where I later returned as a Peace Corps Youth Development Volunteer (2016–2018)—an experience that continues to shape my relational and culturally responsive approach. I’ve also lived in Mexico and spent time in El Salvador, Honduras, Brazil, and Kenya.
My professional background includes community mental health and private group practice, supporting children, families, and adults in both English and Spanish through challenges such as anxiety, depression, personality disorders, grief, parenting and communication issues, and life transitions.
I am licensed in:
North Carolina (C010091)
Virginia (0904018124)
Connecticut (14916)
When I’m not in session, I enjoy nature, drawing, discovering new Latino artists, reading, and sharing coffee with friends.
If you’re curious about working together, have questions about my approach, or would like to schedule a consultation, I’d love to hear from you. You are welcome here, just as you are.
